Developing a Global Image

An international consulting firm needed to raise its profile in key practices worldwide. We worked with the presidents of these divisions to create expert pieces that emphasized their knowledge of the challenges facing their clients around the world. The material developed was used in direct mail campaigns, media pitches and client presentations to position the firm as the global leader in these industry sectors.

   

Targeting a Specific Market

An established regional accounting firm wanted to increase the amount of work it did in the public company arena. We developed a direct mail campaign and follow-up specifically targeted to CFOs, which resulted in three new assignments after the first mailing.

   

Building New Business

When three accounting partners spun off from the large regional firm they had been a part of for two decades, they asked us for help in creating a presence in the small business market. We developed a complete marketing strategy – including positioning, a thought leadership program, a direct mail campaign and media coverage – that helped them gain recognition as creative problem solvers for closely held businesses.

A leading recruitment firm needed to increase its penetration into boardrooms of the top Fortune 500 advanced technology companies – a major source of new revenue for the firm. We created a study of board practices and policies specific to these companies – which both served as a valuable mailer to clients and generated considerable coverage in the major trade publications.

   

Communicating in a Crisis

A high-profile non-profit organization was faced with a potentially damaging situation when one of its strategic partners threatened to sever the relationship and “tell all” to the press. We worked with senior management to analyze the “real” issues behind the discontent and develop a range of communication scenarios, depending on the outcome of the subsequent negotiations. The split was an amicable one, with no negative internal or external publicity.

   

Building Credibility

Our client had a deep commitment to the public school system – and decided to run for the local School Board, although she had no prior political experience. We developed a unique positioning and strategy that emphasized her strengths and dedication and then created a full range of campaign materials – from signage to flyers to mailers – and media coverage to get the word out. On Election Day, the candidate won out over all the competition, including School Board veterans.

Refocusing the Business

A law firm had a strong reputation in the medical malpractice field but wanted to expand into the reproductive law arena. We worked closely with key management to get the practice up and running – creating a new image and logo, substantive literature, new databases, a targeted mail campaign and a public relations program that got the word out to doctors and agencies on the firm’s credentials and expertise.

   

Targeting a High-end Niche Market

Over the years, our client had developed a lucrative line of high-end, customized products for the five-star hospitality industry. Now it wanted to make sure that the work done for these prestigious resorts and hotels stood out in the marketplace. We analyzed the market, suggested creating a separate “platinum” division targeted exclusively to the industry and developed a long-term marketing strategy to distinguish the flourishing division from its competitors.
